YOGYAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM - Student Choir UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta Vocalista Paradisso participated in the 4th Asia Pacific Choir Games held on 19-25 October 2017 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In this competition, Vocalista Paradisso followed two categories: Folklore  cappella and Mixed Youth.

Vocalista Paradisso finally won 3 gold medals of Pasicif Choir Games & Grand Prix of Nations 2017 which took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka some times ago for the categories of Folklore, Mix Choir, and Grand Prix. Vocalista Paradisso managed to bring the Gold Medal in Folklore  Cappella in Grand Prix of Nations with a score of 89.60, Gold Medal in Folklore  Cappella Championship with a score of 88.13, and Gold Medal in Championships Mixed Youth Choir with a score of 84.00.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Sri Lanka Accredited to the Republic of Maldives, Drs I Gusti Ngurah Ardiyasa, attended the Grand Prix Competition and afterwards invited all supporters of PSM Vocalista Paradisso UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta to be welcoed at the Embassy in Colombo.

Vocalista Paradisso prepared all things both technical and non technical for about 6 months. In this competition, as many as 39 people joined in the team who wholeheartedly strive to give the best performance.

Preparations included exercises where the exercise was also divided into singing exercises and choreography exercises. We realized that choreography was one of the things that supported our performance on stage.

Another thing we prepared was certainly the raising of funds. This fund-raising was done by applying for sponsorship to companies or institutions through proposals and Business Funds run by all members of the Vocalista Paradisso Choir.

The team's preparation brought forth a very thankful result. The reverberation of Indonesia Raya song on Colombo land became a great experience for us. Indonesia Raya song sung proudly along with hundreds of other Indonesian people who were also Participants of the other Indonesian Choir there make our hearts touched.

Another proud thing was that Vocalista Paradisso appeared as a representative of Indonesia in Opening Concert 4th APCG. As a representative of Indonesia, of course Vocalista Paradisso wanted to show the identity of the Indonesian Nation by packing the performance with Indonesian songs, Sik-Sik Sibatumanikam which is a typical song from North Sumatera and Lukisan Tanah Air accompanied by Batik Costume which is a typical Indonesian cloth.

Achievements obtained by Vocalista Paradisso certainly gave its own impression in the hearts of each team member. This achievement was the sweet fruit of the training struggle where with 3 gold in this 4th APCG competition be a reminder that we are always humble and will continue to want to learn in order to maintain and also improve the achievement of this Choir in the future.

Our other hope is that what we have earned can be an inspiration for other young people out there, to always be serious in doing all activities in other fields so that both can bring the name of Indonesia to the international arena.

The trainer was proud and amazed by the achievement. The PSM team consisted of Haikal as Manager, Setyo Wacana as Coach, Ning as student guidance Chief, and Kiki Natalia as coach.

The singing according to the trainer was a reflection of the joy and happiness that played a major role in creating the peace of the universe.
